FAQ
Water, fire and storm restoration in Florida
- How quickly must I act on water damage?
- Hours. Clean water becomes a mould problem in roughly 24 to 48 hours in Florida heat.
- Should I open windows?
- No, for most of the year. Closed, conditioned and dehumidified is correct here.
- Do I have to demolish wet drywall?
- Not always. Documented drying often saves it. Reaching for a saw before taking readings is guessing.
- How is drying proven?
- Moisture readings logged daily, not by how a surface feels.
- Is mould covered by insurance?
- Often limited, and frequently excluded where it follows long-term seepage rather than a sudden event.
- Can I clean mould myself?
- A small patch on a hard surface, often. Anything in a wall cavity needs containment or you spread it.
- Who does clearance testing?
- An independent assessor. We will not test our own remediation.
- What is category 3 water?
- Grossly contaminated — sewage, ground water, flood. Porous materials are removed, not dried.
- Is flood water covered?
- Rising flood water is generally excluded from homeowners policies and needs separate flood coverage.
- How long do I have to file?
- One year from date of loss for a new or reopened claim; eighteen months for a supplemental.
- Will filing raise my premium?
- It can, and a denied claim can still affect your record. Weigh it before filing.
- Do you use assignments of benefits?
- No. We do not need one and we will not ask you to sign one.
- Do you negotiate my claim?
- No. We are not public adjusters. We provide scope and documentation.
- Do you do the rebuild too?
- Yes, under the same contract. The handoff is where restoration projects stall.
- How fast can you get here?
- We triage emergencies as fast as we can reach you and give you an honest queue position rather than a promise.
